Department Background
The Department of Botany, established in the year 2005, completed its 15 years in 2020 and since then the department has been providing education in the field of Botany for the students of Ladakh. Most of the passed out students are pursuing masters and research in various reputed universities of India. Also many of the passed out students are placed at various levels of jobs in both govt. and non- Govt. organizations. The faculties of the department are putting in a lot of effort to offer high quality teaching with regard to subject matter of regional, national and international importance.
Since its inception the department has seen increase in the enrolment of students, up gradation of laboratory and establishment of a botanical garden which is in its developing phase.
